We have multiple exciting opportunities for Civil Engineering Interns to join our Norwest team. Orion is seeking eager, dedicated, and self-motivated third-year engineering university students, you will gain hands-on experience, and apply your degree in real-world situations. This fantastic role will suit students looking to work on various projects in a supportive and friendly team with a growing market leader. Our Norwest office is located a convenient short distance from Norwest Metro Station.

Responsibilities

  • Use data provided by designers to compile drawing sets
  • Assist with civil design including road, and drainage infrastructure
  • Ensure work output is of a solid technical standard, meets project needs, and activities are within budget.
  • Ensure quality control processes for each project are implemented and documented.
  • Assist with developing innovative solutions to design problems
  • Develop working relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Maintain regular and timely communication within the team
  • Provide support to members of the team during various stages of work
  • Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards across assigned work areas

Skills and Expertise

  • Commencing third year Bachelor of Civil Engineering in 2025 or recently completed degree
  • Effective communication skills and ability to build collaborative relationships
  • Effective time management skills and ability to focus, achieve outcomes and deadlines
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work well both autonomously and within teams
