We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Drafter/Survey Assistant to join our Norwest team. This fantastic role will suit someone looking to work on various projects in a friendly and supportive team with a growing market leader. Our Norwest office is located a convenient short distance from Norwest Metro Station.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in interpreting and converting survey data (field notes, measurements, and sketches) into accurate and detailed drawings using CAD software
  • Create and revise detailed survey plans and site maps, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and timely delivery of projects
  • Work closely with senior surveyors and engineers to support field surveys and provide drafting assistance for various surveying tasks
  • Maintain and organize survey files, records, and drawings, ensuring that all documents are properly filed and up to date
  • Assist in the review and check of drawings for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project specifications and standards
  • Stay updated on new drafting techniques, software, and industry trends to enhance skills and improve work efficiency
  • Contribute to preparing reports, proposals, and presentation materials for client meetings as needed
  • Perform quality assurance on survey plans and make necessary amendments.

Skills and Expertise

  • Certificate IV in Drafting (Preferred but not essential)
  • Enrolled in a Survey Degree/Diploma
  • Magnet and AutoCAD experience preferred (but not essential)
  • Trimble Equipment experience (but not essential)
  • Knowledge of survey techniques and industry standards
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Technical drawing and presentation skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Drivers Licence
  • White Card (Construction induction Training Card)
