Senior Civil Design Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Design Engineer to join our Norwest team. This fantastic role will suit someone looking to work on various projects in a friendly and supportive team with a growing market leader. Responsibilities

  • Civil design experience primarily within the urban development space, including roads, lot grading and drainage infrastructure.
  • Undertake documentation and design tasks with a demonstrated working knowledge in the use of 12D and Auto CAD (minimum requirement).
  • XP-Rafts, DRAINS, TUFLOW and MUSIC (desirable but not essential).
  • You'll support the Design Manager to manage the design process of various projects.
  • Liaise and build strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders and relevant authorities.
  • Proven experience planning and managing projects through involvement in all stages of project delivery.
  • Proven experience with residential subdivision design, including earth works, roads, drainage, water and sewer.
  • Ensure work output is of a technically high standard and meets the client’s needs.
  • Mange the budgeting, costs and the invoicing of projects.
  • Demonstrate innovative solutions to problems and take necessary action to expedite the successful accomplishment of assigned projects.
  • Provide technical support to peers, as well as mentor junior staff to further develop the knowledge base and assist in career progression.
  • Assist with growing and developing the company and its engineering standards to help provide a unique and modern design methodology.
  • Adoption, promotion and adherence to the Orion’s Integrated Management System (IMS) and Quality Management (QMS) and Work Health & Safety (WHS) Systems.

Skills and Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • Minimum of 6+ years’ experience
  • Advanced working knowledge in the use of 12D/Civil 3D, DRAINS, TUFLOW & MUSIC software
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring and project management skills
  • Efficient time management skills to achieve project deadlines and budgetary constraints
