We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Flood Engineer to join our Brisbane team. This fantastic role will suit someone looking to work on various projects in a friendly and supportive team with a growing market leader. This role is located at our Brisbane Office, which is centrally located in the heart of the city’s CBD.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of flood studies, floodplain management plans and risk assessments
  • Communication of flood conditions, government compliance requirements and the impacts of proposed development on flood conditions for upstream and downstream properties
  • Manage communications between clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders while ensuring the delivery of quality and timely solutions
  • Collaborate with other Orion teams to deliver various projects across QLD
  • coordination of resources including team members, third-party contractors and/or consultants to deliver projects according to the plan
  • Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations and standards
  • Ensure quality control processes are implemented and documented
  • Assist in managing project budgets, invoicing and variations where required
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders both internal and external
  • Address client queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner

Skills and Expertise

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related fields
  • 6+ years of experience in civil engineering and flood management-related projects
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction practices, and project management techniques
  • Proficiency in TUFLOW, DRAINS/XP-Rafts, and MUSIC
  • Strong client management skills with the ability to work to deadlines
  • Excellent written communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using MS Office and MS Project (desirable)
